How Earth Observation Data are Processed
The data acquired by the Earth observation satellites are received by ground stations in Japan and overseas. Then the data are transferred to the server located at the JAXA’s Tsukuba Space Center through ground network and archived.
JAXA analyzes satellite data and conducts development of algorithms to lead meaningful physical quantity for the Earth science and calibration and validation to secure the quality of satellite data. After these processes, satellite data are provided to the users.
The satellite data are utilized in various fields. JAXA values the engagements with those users. JAXA is proceeding satellite data application in collaboration with institutions in Japan as well as overseas.
