Overview

Aerosols floating in the air, such as yellow dust and PM2.5 etc. can be observed from the Space. Volcanic plumes caused by volcanic eruptions or forest fires have drifted in the atmosphere over long distances and affected our daily life causing air pollution and visual disturbances over a wide area. By incorporating the observation result of aerosols into the simulation, prediction of yellow dust has been improved.

In addition, there is a possibility of “Parasol effect by atmospheric aerosol” to absorb global warming. Aerosol data is one of the important data to conduct future forecast of global warming.
