Overview

In 1995, the Earth Observation Research Center (EORC) was established under the National Space Development Agency of Japan (NASDA), predecessor of JAXA, in order to evolve the works of Earth Observation Center (EOC, established in 1978) focused on receiving, archiving, processing, and providing Earth observation satellite data. Since then, we have expanded area of our activities on Earth observation satellite data to promotion of geoscientific research, calibration and validation of satellite data, and applied research. To commemorate 30 years of utilizing Earth observation satellite data, we are holding the "30th Anniversary Symposium on Harnessing Earth Observation Data: Celebrating Our Achievements and Exploring Future Opportunities”.

At the symposium, we will look back the achievements and current status on utilization of the Earth observation satellite data by JAXA and partners through exhibition and presentations, and discuss the future direction ahead and challenges toward the next 30 years in a panel discussion.

We look forward to the participation of many people.
