Event Report: "JAXA and TASA Jointly Hosted Japan-Taiwan Space Economy Co-Creation Workshop" supported by CONSEO on July 8th
On July 8, 2024, the "Japan-Taiwan Space Economy Co-Creation Workshop" was held, organized by JAXA and the Taiwan Space Agency (TASA) supported by CONSEO. Approximately 40 representatives from TASA and related parties visited Japan for this event. Potential collaboration to realize this workshop was recognized as one of the areas of interests during dialogues between JAXA and TASA officials.

Approximately 100 participants from both Japanese and Taiwanese government and private sectors, including heads of both space agencies (Online streaming was also conducted)
The workshop began with greetings from Dr. Hiroshi Yamakawa, President of JAXA, Ms. Mei-Yueh Ho, Chairperson of the Committee on Science and Technology Exchange of the Taiwan-Japan Relations Association, and Dr. Jong-Shinn Wu, Director General of TASA. Following the opening remarks, Dr. Way-Jin Chen, TASA's Space Technology Application Department and Ms. Kyoko Dateki from JAXA’s Business Development and Industrial Relations Department introduced their respective space agencies’ efforts to promote the space industry.
Subsequently, 12 private companies from Japan and 5 from Taiwan gave pitch presentations, showcasing their products and solutions [Note].
The workshop concluded with closing remarks by Dr. Hen-I Lin from the Chung-Hua Institution for Economic Research (CIER) and Dr. Maejima, Director of Earth Observation at JAXA and CONSEO Secretariat. Following the workshop, participants engaged in active networking, fostering lively exchanges.
